I am currently a pre-medical student. I graduated from UCSC with a Bachelor's of Fine Art in 2007. I recently received two AS degrees, General Science and Physical Science & Mathematics from American River College in May 2011. I have spent that last seven years working with disabled children. I have been an ABA tutor for children with autism, a "Best Buddy" for mentally impaired adults, and a camp counselor for people of all ages with disabilities. I enjoy working with this population a great deal, as I find many special needs people to be unique and loving individuals.

I recently completed UC Davis's Pre-Medical Surgical internship. It was a fascinating and critical learning experience. In seven-hour shifts, I rounded with surgical residents across many different specialties and was able to observe a number of surgeries, including laparoscopic surgeries and those performed using the amazing DaVinci robotic system. I am very interested in pathology, genetics, and patient care and am continuing to pursue my interest in each.

Last but not least, I have been a singer/songwriter and independent musician for the last thirteen years. I released my first self-penned and produced album at age 13 (1997). I am now 26, and my latest effort is available on iTunes, Ariel S. Lee's "The Vigilante." I also have a website dedicated to my creative efforts at arielslee.com.

I hope you enjoy any written wisdom I have to offer you! Feel free to comment or contact me with any information or questions.
